Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance
Our careers programme includes careers education sessions for years 7- 13 as part of the tutor programme and assemblies. These sessions include career guidance activities, information and research activities. This also enables students to develop individual career planning.
Other sessions include making life choices, interview techniques and writing a CV. Other focused events are Careers Fair, Mock Interviews and University/ HE / Alternative post-16/18 educational visits. In addition to these programmed events, year 11 students will receive a 1:1 careers interview and Yr12 participate in work experience.
The schools library site - Information Hub - also regularly posts up to date information regarding careers, which is accessible to all students and staff to support careers education. There is also a designated Careers Office for interviews and specialist advice.
The careers curriculum is also supported by our partnership work with University
of East Anglia (UEA) , Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (NEACO), Oxford and Cambridge University and Higher Aspirations Scheme (HAS) Higher Education Champions. This work is delivered at subject level and by year group to include trips, visits, guest speakers and specialist workshops.
