Careers Programme

Our careers programme includes careers education sessions for years 7- 13 as part of the tutor programme and assemblies. These sessions include career guidance activities, information and research activities. This also enables students to develop individual career planning.

Other sessions include making life choices, interview techniques and writing a CV. Other focused events are Careers Fair, Mock Interviews and University/ HE / Alternative Post-16/18 educational visits. In addition to these programmed events, Yr11 students receive a 1:1 careers interview and Yr12 also have access to 1:1 careers guidance and participate in work experience. We also have a dedicated Yr10 Careers Guest Speaker Programme, which is supported by a range of providers in various employment sectors and education.

The school’s online Information Hub also regularly posts up-to-date information regarding careers, which is accessible to all students, parents and staff to support careers education. The ‘Information Hub’ is a key resource to support future progression covering resources, news and events linked with careers and targeted to each year group. Onsite there is also a designated Careers Office for interviews and specialist advice.

The Careers Curriculum is also supported by our partnership work with UEA (University of East Anglia) , NEACO (Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach), Oxbridge (Oxford and Cambridge) HAS (Higher Aspirations Scheme) and The New Anglia Careers Hub. This work is delivered according to year group, and where applicable is subject specific, to include trips, visits, guest speakers and specialist workshops.

An overview of the Careers Programme can be found below. This is our core offer and is subject to change throughout the year in response to opportunities provided by our outreach partnerships and external agencies. Subject level provision is not included in this programme, however it is recorded through our monitoring platform.
